WHO IS TED COOK?


Ted Cook’s 19th Hole was the creation of Louis “Ted” Cook, who is originally from Dayton, Ohio and his wife of 48 years Amilee Cook. Ted owned and managed the 19th Hole Barbecue from 1968 to 1986 and passed it on to the Davis Family, Richard, Priscilla and Michael Davis. The Davis family sold Ted Cook’s to Moses Quartey in July 2001.

An avid golfer and a long time member of the Twin Cities Golf Club, Teddy as he was affectionately called was Minnesota State Senior Golf Champion in 72 and also a champion at 19 in Ohio. He passed away on July 20, 1992.

Amazing Ribs!!! Went here all the time when I lived nearby. I still make it here, regardless of the drive. I’m a big fan of a full rack of hot sauced ribs with lots of Jo-Jo/Potatoes! I highly recommend!

I walk by this place in the morning on my way to work and smells soooo good. I finally tried it today. OMG!!! I have found my new BBQ spot. By far the best. Ribs on point and the greens yes!! Potato salad like my grandma used to make. Recommend this place any day!!

I am a huge lover of rib tips! So, I was in the Minneapolis area for work and before leaving, I searched Google for rib tip restaurants before my arrival. I saw Ted’s and was really interested in giving this establishment a try. I was not disappointed in the least bit! I ordered the large tips and added the Red Beans and Rice! Really outstanding Red Beans and Rice, kudos for an excellent side! The rib tips were cooked to perfection, ahhh! I was in heaven for the last two days, because for the order was large enough for two meals. Though, I was not enamored wit the sauce all that much, the tips and the way they were prepared, made me not to critical on the sauce. I would highly recommend this establishment! Next time I am in town, I will definitely be heading back to Ted’s! Job well done to everyone!
